MAVCA All State Nominations Are Now Open
As of Saturday September 1st, the 2024 MAVCA Girls All-State nomination window is now OPEN. The online nomination period will close Monday, October 28th at 11:59pm ET (and all Maxpreps stats must be up to date as of this time.)
This year we are accepting nominations throughout the entire season, and all nominations will be published on the MAVCA.org website in an “All State Watch List.” It is our hope that this watch list will support the best players being noticed around the state. Anyone nominated to the “watch list” will automatically be nominated for “All State” Voting Lists at the end of the season.
IMPORTANT! In order to complete an athlete’s nomination, she MUST be nominated during the nomination window AND the athlete’s match-by-match stats must be uploaded to MaxPreps. MaxPreps is a free service to all high school head coaches that will allow you to upload your roster, schedule, results, and stats.
IMPORTANT!: MAVCA membership is required in order to nominate an athlete for All-State! Membership can be completed online here.

All-State Selection Process – 5 Division Breakout with MIAA Alignments
With 5 MIAA divisions, the MAVCA Board looked at selections from the past three years to identify trends of where the current selection numbers might fall. We continue to monitor this on a yearly basis. Based on this information, the breakout is as follows::
- Division 1: 16 players
- Division 2: 16 players
- Division 3/4/5: 18-22 players (total from all tView Pagehree divisions)
Nominations
- Head Coach must be a member in good standing with the organization. Member coaches may nominate any player they see fit, not just their own players.
- Must have stats on MaxPreps to be considered.
- All players nominated must represent a team that has qualified for MIAA Post-season play.
- Deadline for nominations will be Monday, October 28th by 11:59pm ET.
- The MAVCA Board of Directors will review and consider any exceptions to the above criteria on a case-by-case basis.
Statistics are an important part of the All-State process. The MAVCA board will be checking MaxPreps to ensure the best players are being represented. Please be faithful in posting your stats after every game.
MaxPreps provides a nice set of statistical definitions. Please read them to ensure we are all doing it right!
Timeline for All-State Selection:
- Saturday 9/1/24 – Online Nominations OPEN (creating the watch list)
- Monday 10/28/24 – Online Nominations CLOSE (11:59pm ET) – All Maxpreps stats must be updated and complete.
- Monday 11/4/24 – Online nomination list and data shared with member coaches to preview for All State meeting
- Sunday 11/10/24 – MAVCA Annual Meeting & All-State Voting via Zoom meeting @ 10am
- Monday 11/18/24 – MAVCA 2024 All-State Showcase @ Westborough High School
