Girls All-State Nominations

This year we are accepting nominations throughout the entire season, and all nominations will be published in the All-State Nomination List.  It is our hope that this list will support the best players being noticed around the state.  Anyone nominated will automatically be on “All-State” Voting Lists at the end of the season (as long as they meet the criteria below.)

IMPORTANT!: In order to complete an athlete’s nomination, she MUST be nominated during the nomination window AND the athlete’s match-by-match stats must be uploaded to MaxPreps. MaxPreps is a free service to all high school head coaches that will allow you to upload your roster, schedule, results, and stats.

All-State Selection Process – 5 Division Breakout with MIAA Alignments
With 5 MIAA divisions, the MAVCA Board looked at selections from the past three years to identify trends of where the current selection numbers might fall. We continue to monitor this on a yearly basis, especially when the MIAA realignments hit.

Nominations and Criteria

• Head Coach must be a member in good standing with the organization. Member coaches may nominate any player they see fit, not just their own players.
• Must have stats on MaxPreps to be considered.
• All players nominated must represent a team that has qualified for MIAA Post-season play. (This criteria will be determined at the end of the regular season)
• Deadline for nominations will be Monday, October 27th by 11:59pm ET.
• All athletes nominated will be added to the accessible All-State Nomination List
• The MAVCA Board of Directors will review and consider any exceptions to the above criteria on a case-by-case basis for athletes who have been nominated.
• If an athlete is nominated but does not fit all the criteria, the athlete’s Head Coach will be notified by the MAVCA Board of Directors prior to the voting process.

The MAVCA Board of Directors highly encourages coaches to nominate their athletes early for All-State consideration. When competing throughout the year, coaches should reference the MAVCA All-State Nomination List to be able to support athletes that are deserving of this recognition.

***Notes on statistics ***

Statistics are an important part of the All-State process. The MAVCA board will be checking MaxPreps to ensure the best players are being represented. Please be faithful in posting your stats after every game.

Voting Process:

• All MAVCA members will receive the All-State nomination list as well as data that has been compiled by the MAVCA Board of Directors from MaxPreps prior to the All-State Voting Meeting.
• The All-State meeting will be held via Zoom.
• The members attending the meeting will be broken out by division into voting rooms.
• Each coach in attendance can speak on behalf of any player on the All-State nomination list.
• At the end of discussion, member Head Coaches will be able to vote for up to the allowed number of student athletes per their division allowance.
• The Head Coach only can cast the vote for their respective school, with an Assistant Coach being allowed to, only by proxy, and with prior MAVCA Board of Directors approval (if the head coach is absent.)
• An athlete needs at least 50% of the attending vote in their favor to be selected for the All-State team.

Timeline for All-State Selection:

• Saturday 9/13/25: Online Nominations OPEN
• Monday 9/15/25: The All-State Nomination List becomes accessible
• Monday 10/27/25: Online Nominations CLOSE (11:59pm ET) – All Maxpreps stats must be updated and complete.
• Tuesday 10/28/25: MAVCA will contact the Head Coach of any athlete who does not qualify based upon the aforementioned criteria that has been nominated.
• Thursday 10/30/25: Nomination list data shared with member coaches to preview for All-State meeting
• Sunday 11/09/25: MAVCA Annual Meeting & All-State Voting via Zoom meeting @ 10am
• Tuesday 11/11/25: Athlete’s Head Coaches will be notified of All-State selection via E-Mail
• Wednesday 11/12/25: All-State Teams Announced via MAVCA Website
